While we talk about the state of the arte technologies and techniques, could one consider the contemporaneity of the diverse cultural realties so apparent and yet so irrelevant to each other, in different parts of the world?<\/p><p class=\"p1\">While in Berlin a contemporary performance is trying to reach a new medium between light and sound, in another place, at a distance of a five-hour flight, like in the Zagros mountains, a reminiscent of the age old mourning songs so called \u201c<i>Muyeh\u201d <\/i> is being performed<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>by \u201cprofessional cryers\u201d in a house where the father has just passed away\u2026 these two happen contemporarily\u2026 in different quotidian realties\u2026as in two parallel realities\u2026 in two parallel worlds\u2026<\/p><p class=\"p1\">And this contemporaneity was evident during the execution of a piece I wrote for the Zagros Ensemble (homonymous by coincidence), when a professional <i>Muyeh <\/i>singer from Zagros region, sang her sublime lamentation, live on a video call, right when the unsuspecting ensemble was performing their 90 seconds of silence put in the middle of the piece\u201d<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\">Vahid Hosseini, 2021 Milan<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"p1\">And thus is born SoundsTheatre: a platform to realise the contemporaneity of such \u201cparallel realities\u201d; an idea realised by Vahid Hosseini, composer and setar player, who moved on from his primary Persian traditional musical formation to grasp the essence of western contemporary means of expression. This is an effort to make a synthesis from the atoms of eastern and western cultures, a theatre made of sounds and collaborative efforts to reach a new medium on a theatrical performance stage. A new medium which is more relevant to the paradoxes of our time: immediate and undisturbed by the crazy world around.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201c The contemporary is a curious thing!
